Science and the Bible

Home church Leader Craig Smith shows how science does not contradict the bible. Although the Bible was not written to be a science textbook, the two exist in harmony. Science is often used to prove Biblical claims: We’re talking about science and the bible.  My question is this: does science contradict the bible?  This is something that people raise fairly regularly, and I think it’s worth addressing. I want to start off with this Richard Dawkins interview clip: he’s a famous natural selection supporter; we’re going to see what he has to say. Dawkins is making this point over and over, that faith in some sort of creator is not based on any sort of evidence; he’s basically...

Comparative Religions

All religions were created to bring light to the mystery of existence, but is there one that rises above the rest as being completely true? Home Church Leader Neil Brooks explains how Christianity, a relationship instead of a religion, is true and infallible. There is an abundance of evidence that testifies to the existence of the loving God of the Bible. http://repo.neoxenos.org/public/audio/podcasts/xt100522b.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download...

Postmodernism: the Religion of Blind Faith...

Valid Religions -Video The Blind Faith religion -PowerPoint My teaching is called the Blind Faith Religion, because if you think about it nobody goes to the Fifth Third Bank and says: “What’s true for you isn’t true for me. I got a lot more money than you think I do.” Nobody does that because it is quite brain-dead but somewhere along the line someone decided it is cool to do that with religion and with what you believe and with spirituality. And it has been commonly accepted in our culture, in our society that that is normal to do. You know you can mix any religion together and make your own truth and your own meaning and if...

A Reasonable Mind

It should not be a surprise to learn our Creator is the epitome of a reasonable mind. Unfortunately, it would surprise far too many. Our penchant for controversy puts crackpots in the spiritual spotlight, so we hear more about how “God HATES Homos!” and less about the Creator’s self-disclosure, which is infinitely more useful. Consider two obvious points, which somehow eludes Pop Wisdom: Science works because the fabric of the universe is a weave of reasonable, scientific laws. Science indicates Creation is the product of a reasonable mind comprehensible by reasoning minds. A useful inquiry about God should begin with the assumption that God is a reasonable mind. An irrational, unreasonable, nonsensical, unintelligible Creator is not good news...
